Yesterday morning the rain came down so hard that it overflowed the gutters and created an incredible sheet of water. Impressive sight, but I might want to check to see whats clogging the gutters up. I grabbed my coffee and sat outside under the covered deck and took a moment to enjoy the beautiful site. After about two minutes I couldn’t sit any longer, and decided it would be a better idea to try and capture some of this free water. In my robe, out in the pouring rain, I set out various containers under key spots where the water was pouring down the best. I always like watering plants with rain water since it won’t have all that extra gunk such as chlorine and such. OH I’ll drink that stuff myself..yum yum, but my plants deserve better. Huh?? After an hour or so the rain stopped and the garden called. Winter won’t stop a garden addict. I put on my rain boots, changed into clothes that were better than a robe to garden in, and started clearing out overgrown vines. Best Monday ever.

This carefully crafted ebook: “The Willows (Unabridged)” is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents.
The Willows is one of Blackwood’s best known works and has been influential on a number of later writers. Horror author H.P. Lovecraft considered it to be the finest supernatural tale in English literature. Throughout the story Blackwood personifies the surrounding environment — river, sun, wind — and imbues them with a powerful and ultimately threatening character. Most ominous are the masses of dense, desultory, menacing willows, which “moved of their own will as though alive, and they touched, by some incalculable method, my own keen sense of the horrible.” – Two friends are midway on a canoe trip down the Danube River. After managing to land their canoe for the evening, during the night and into the next day and night, the mysterious, hostile forces emerge in force, including large, dark shapes that seem to trace the consciousness of the two men…
