With the weather being so warm, it is a perfect time to open up our bee hives and see what is going on inside there before the cold weather moves in. My partner in crime and I do not do nearly enough hive inspections. Honestly, I just really don’t like bugging them at all. I feel like I should just let them work. Plus, all four of our colonies are new this year. It’s not as if we are going to get any honey from them. We have opened up the top a few times to be sure they are building comb, and they were, so I was satisfied with that. We never figured out for certain why our first colonies failed, but one theory was they may have had mites, so today we are going in to add mite strips to kill off any that may have moved in and prevent any new ones from getting cozy. So far they haven’t been an issue, but we are going to do some preventative work.

Reluctant psychic Katrina Parker always suspected her love of tacos would one day get her into trouble. She just always believed it would come in the form of tight jeans, not a decapitated head and the quiet ghost attached to it.

Agreeing to lend a hand to the severed head, Kat discovers that the problems of lugging a head all over town, crashing a wake, and keeping it hidden from hunky detective Damian Johnson all pale in comparison to having to deal with the constant smell issue.

Each misstep brings her closer to an answer, yet even closer to danger. And with her friends and family now in the line of fire, Kat must keep all her wits about her or risk losing her own head.

Now includes bonus short story: Car Shopping with Kat

Long ago the world fell into twilight, when the great empires of old consumed each other in sorcerous cataclysms. In the south the Star Towers fell, swallowed by the sea, while the black glaciers descended upon the northern holdfasts, entombing the cities of Min-Ceruth in ice and sorcery. Then from the ancient empire of Menekar the paladins of Ama came, putting every surviving sorcerer to the sword and cleansing their taint from the land for the radiant glory of their lord.

The pulse of magic slowed, fading like the heartbeat of a dying man.

But after a thousand years it has begun to quicken again.

In a small fishing village a boy with strange powers comes of age…

A young queen rises in the west, fanning the long-smoldering embers of magic into a blaze once more…

Something of great importance is stolen – or freed – from the mysterious Empire of Swords and Flowers…

And the immortals who survived the ancient cataclysms bestir themselves, casting about for why the world is suddenly changing…
