I had one of those romantic comedy moments in my front yard yesterday. I didn’t think those actually happened. Now mind you, there was no romance involved, it was just the set-up you would see in a movie. I was just leaving my front door in a baggy sweatshirt and extra large snowman pj’s, taking Junebug to her play date with her best friend Winnie the poodle. A neighbor, I had never met before (that some might call handsome), was walking by with his dog. His pup took one look at Junebug and bee-lined it straight to her. The pup was going so nuts he wiggled right out of his collar. I watched as that poor handsome man tackled his dog on my front lawn. Paws and man all over the front lawn. It was quite a site. Junebug was not impressed and despite the fact that the pup was 85 pounds, she still gave him a piece of her mind. I left the poor handsome man and his dog rolling around on my front lawn and took Junebug to her play-date. Had I been young and single I would had been mortified that he saw me looking so frumpy, but I was none of those things. When I returned to my house he was still on my lawn securing his pup. We had a nice chat about his dog and went on our way. It’s times like this that I am so happy to be out of high school, out of the dating world, and all the junk that goes with it. I have no regrets about my snowman pj’s and I love it.

The Gunsmith’s Boy: A Western Adventure From The Author of “A Long Way To Texas”
by Dave Sebeslav
4.1 Stars (48 Reviews)
Genre: Literature & Fiction

At the tender age of seventeen, Connor Farrell knew more about guns than most of the outlaws and the lawmen. Four years ago, his father had handed him a box containing both guns, completely disassembled, and told him he could have them, when and if he could put them back together. It took him a week, but he did it. He didn’t do it to please his father, whom he hated, nor his mother, whom he loved. He did it to prove to himself that he could, and as a result of hours of practice at the back of the property, he rarely missed with either gun, and he could draw and fire the pistol in a split second.
