I needed to get myself fired up for the Tough Mudder event (10 miles/ 20 obstacles and a strange sense that I might just have worms in my brain that make me do this every year) that my partner in crime and I are going to. The course map came out and I started reviewing each obstacle and watching YouTube videos to see exactly what it was. That’s when I started getting excited. Watching some of the videos I could see which ones were really going to scare me. I love the ones that freak me out. For example, the one where you crawl into a tube that is buried underground that is dark and narrow. Physically not hard to do, but your brain tells you not to do it, so it’s a bit of a battle. My all time favorite is the Arctic Enema. This one is torture. You dive head first down a tube, into a tank filled with ice water and have to make your way to the other end battling ice and freezing cold water. No matter how hard you try to go fast, the water makes it a slow painful trek to the other end. Fun FUN!! Weird thing is…. it is fun.
