I don’t think my hubby even knows me. Let me paint a picture for you. Every night I put on my warmest sweatpants, a robe, and I get under a heated blanket to watch our programs. It has been raining all week, there was even snow in some areas of the county, and there is wind. Way too much wind. It’s been COLD! I thought for sure hubby would cancel the camping trip this weekend that we had planned a few months ago. Nope. Last night we went shopping for camping food and he has asked me to make Eggplant Parmesan to bring up. This is still happening?? Really?? But I am fragile! Thankfully where we are camping is only 30 minutes away and if it gets too bad we can always go home. Oh Hubby. Do you even KNOW me?

Mariya (Empty Mankind Book 1)
by Milha Vek
(17 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
Mariya is a transgressive debut by Milha Vek. Set in Eastern Europe, it tells the story of children who were only taught to slaughter.
Dark psychological fiction with a sense of traumatic humour.
Mariya fled her emotionally cauterized mother after watching her absent father die. Milha immigrated to Austria after finding his father with a knife in his chest. Both knew about love but never witnessed it firsthand. After meeting in Vienna, Mariya and Milha formed an unhealthy relationship.
Inheritance usually suggests something you can keep. They inherited pustota, an emptiness molded to the contours of what should have been there.
“The writing’s simple, bordering on sparse, and allows each moment the room it deserves to breathe… It’s full of trauma, love, found family, and social commentary… I don’t think a review can convey how masterfully done it all is.” — Sadie, Goodreads Review

The Ghost Hunter Next Door (The Beechwood Harbor Ghost Mysteries Book 1)
by Danielle Garrett
(2,246 Reviews)

The first rule of being a ghost whisperer: Don’t tell anyone.
Seriously. Don’t.
Sure, it might sound harmless. A fun party trick, even. I assure you, it’s not.
How do I know? Well, let’s just say that I’ve had a lot of experience with this sort of thing, and nine times out of ten, it turns into an all-consuming disaster. Being plagued by needy ghosts twenty-four/seven is one thing; being harassed by a horde of curious — or worse, grieving — flesh-and-blood people is an entirely different circus. I mean really, who wants to hold an impromptu séance in the middle of the cereal aisle? Not me, and the manager of the grocery store probably isn’t too crazy about the idea, either.
So, that’s it. If you’re a ghost whisperer, just keep your mouth shut and act normal. Ghosts? What ghosts?
Now, if only I would start listening to my own advice…
