One of the requirements of having a booth at the vintage and antique store is you have to work in the shop a few days a month. I wasn’t too thrilled about that detail. I am not good at small talk and not being awkward around people. Yesterday was my second time working in the shop. Thankfully I felt comfortable with the basic tasks of preparing the store for the day, such as turning on all the different lights in each booth, opening the massive roll-up door, and setting up the register. Easy stuff. Also I would not be alone. I was paired up with another vendor in the store. What surprised me was the absolute ease I felt with her. We chatted it up as if we had been friends forever. The customers that came in felt the same as well. It was the strangest feeling and I loved it. I have always loved to talk about the treasures I find, but it’s not a subject my friends are particularly in to. I found a place where that’s all the people want to talk about. YAY! The hours flew by and when it was time to close I found it a bit hard to leave. No worries though. I can stop by any time I want.

Catch a Kiwi (New Zealand Ever After Book 6)
by Rosalind James
(1,015 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
Breathe, smile, and move on.
When you’re writing the next chapter in your rags-to-riches-to-rags story, you need about a million quotes like that. I might have been short on inspiration, but I had determination. That was it, except for a very young cousin and a very old campervan, but I was all about starting over. Nobody knew me in New Zealand other than a series of café and motel managers, and anonymity suited me fine. Manlessness suited me even finer.
Until the day when that campervan rolled down a South Island hillside in a tropical cyclone and trapped my cousin Delilah inside, and an extremely rude stranger helped me get her out. Now, I had no campervan and possibly even less inspiration. I still had determination, though. Determination not to let one Roman D’Angelo, no matter how rich or bossy he might be, run my life or mess with my inner peace. I was serene. I was independent. I was in control.
I was in so much trouble.

FREE for a limited time
It’s the original Redstone.
Mike Redstone is elated when his small accounting firm lands a contract with a trendy Los Angeles tech company. As he goes to work for his new client, the twin suicide and drug epidemics sweeping Los Angeles are little more than regrettable distractions.
But Redstone’s enthusiasm turns to confusion, and then fear, as he reluctantly realizes that his new client is at the center of a plot to subjugate his city, trapping its population in a web of drug-suffused thought control.
With one eye turned to the dysfunction gradually engulfing Los Angeles and the other to his firm’s deteriorating finances, Redstone stumbles from one caffeine-fueled mishap to the next, refusing to acknowledge the international conspiracy unfolding before him.
Finally left with no choice but to confront an evil of unimaginable proportions, he and a resolute group of friends concoct a desperate scheme so ill-conceived, so poorly planned, and so ineptly executed that it just might save the soul of a city.

Walden: Henry David Thoreau’s Timeless Call to Simplicity, Nature, and Self-Reliance
by Henry David Thoreau, Zenith Ivory Tower Publications
(6,983 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
Escape the noise. Rediscover yourself.
Walden is Henry David Thoreau’s enduring reflection on simple living, nature, and the human spirit. More than just a memoir, it’s a bold philosophical statement — a call to live deliberately, to question conformity, and to find meaning in solitude.
One man. One cabin. One powerful experiment in living.
In 1845, Thoreau retreated to the woods of Walden Pond near Concord, Massachusetts, where he built a modest cabin and lived for two years. From this experience emerged one of the most influential works in American literature — an ode to nature, personal freedom, and the spiritual benefits of a life stripped of excess.
