Did you know that there was a real Moby Dick? I had no clue. Ya.. his name was.. get this… Mocha Dick. Kinda lazy on Herman Melville’s part. Or was he just trying to be that obvious. Dunno. Anywhoo… Mocha Dick, an albino sperm whale that was first spotted near Chile’s Mocha Island in 1810, was 70 foot and battled 100 whaling ships, sank 20, and was loose in the oceans for over 30 years. They say he was actually a pretty cool guy unless you attacked him. Then, understandably, he went all crazy and said NOT TODAY TINY HUMANS IN STUPID FLOATY THINGIES!!” Mocha could breach his whole body out of the water. That would scare me right back to land lickity split. Seriously though. Why would you want to kill such magnificent creatures? I do want to add. I read this all on a Facebook post. I would sure like to read more about it, but I am scared as all hecka doodle to Google “Mocha Dick.”

Then she meets Mack, the quiet store owner with the heart of a poet whose steady presence and unexpected understanding remind her what it feels like to be truly seen. With the support of Mack and her lifelong friend Charlotte, Amy launches a small business that empowers women in the community — and begins to rebuild not just her life, but her sense of purpose.
Just as Amy starts to believe in this new future, her ex-husband returns, threatening to disrupt the peace she’s built — and pull her back into old patterns of rescue and guilt. But this time, Amy has something she didn’t have before: a community that has her back and the courage to choose herself.
The Sweet Side of Summer is an uplifting midlife story about friendship, courage, new love, and discovering that the best chapters of your life are the ones you write for yourself.
