Today is day one of our RV trip to Canada. Food is packed, clothes are almost all packed, and the neighbors are all ready to stay at our house and watch the pups and fish. All is ready, except for one tiny thing. We still don’t have a car to tow. These trips are next to impossible if we don’t have a car to drive to some of our destinations. All we are waiting on is one wheel. I can’t complain at all though. From the time the fire in the two front brakes took place, to it being towed to the shop, the parts being ordered and the work being done was super fast. All that being done and we are only waiting on one wheel for a 2003 car is amazing. We won’t know until 11 am, what our status is. This seems pretty common for us and trips. Always a bit of suspense. All I can do is make sure everything else is ready and keep the house clean. I’m going to spend as much time as I can cuddling my sweet pups before we leave. No pups on this trip. awwwwww.

Tommy Cuda’s goal is simple: drive Route 66 to the Pacific Ocean in his grandfather’s muscle car. Along the way, search for a way of life that isn’t boring while avoiding the mind-numbing pull of text messages and social networks. Pushing west out of Chicago with fuel in the tank and money in his pocket feels like sunshine after a month of dark Midwestern skies. Then he draws the Magician card from the tarot deck of a fortune teller named Lenore.
And she runs.
There are only two reasons to run. Towards something one desires. Or away from something one fears.
Or some-ONE.
Lenore’s someone drives a blue Cadillac.
In scheming her escape, Tommy learns that Lenore has big plans for the future. A dream that requires the precise moves of a Rubik’s Cube combined with the commitment of a moonshot.
But that blue Cadillac blocks the way.
Dodging it uncovers a secret that even the fortune teller couldn’t predict. A secret that places Tommy between the rock of knowledge and the hard place of revealing a disturbing truth to his new friend. A truth that draws him face-to-face with powerful men who have taken an unhealthy interest in his actions.
But the Rubik’s Cube must turn. So Tommy does what any good private eye would do when the stakes are high and he’s running out of time.
Protect the client.
Follow the money.

How Hot It Be in Hell: Poetry (Inside The Circle of The Sun…)
by Aubrey E Drummond
(5 Reviews)
FREE for a limited time
How Hot It Be in Hell descends into the hidden impulses people try to outrun — jealousy, obsession, violence, desire, and the quiet urges that twist a life off course. Each poem opens a door into a different human fracture: a lover’s fatal rage, a predator’s watchful hunger, a drunk stumbling toward chaos, a homeless man recounting the slow collapse of everything he held dear. Even the act of writing becomes a reckoning with the shadows that shape meaning, rendered through Drummond’s surreal imagery and genre?bending voice.
As the collection deepens, the tone grows darker, more unflinching, until the final poem, HOT FIRE, tears past individual sins and imagines hell itself breaking loose upon the earth. Drummond blends romance, horror, mystery, and lyrical experimentation into a haunting exploration of how easily humanity slips toward ruin. The result is a compelling, fire?lit journey for readers drawn to poetry that stares directly into darkness and refuses to look away.

Falling for the dance captain was never part of the plan…
Cami Simpson is the ‘it girl’ — at least until a string of terrible decisions leads to no boyfriend, no captainship of the dance team, and no fancy apartment. Due to a mold outbreak at her place, she’s forced to relocate to a co-ed dorm as a senior. And to top it off, she finds out she’s at risk of not graduating due to an error in her schedule. Talk about the worst senior year ever.
Frederick Brady the IV would never admit the massive crush he once had on the dance darling. Not to anyone. They’d almost had a moment a year ago, but she crushed him, so she’s the last person he wants to live next to. It doesn’t matter though. He’s on his way out to an internship and almost done with school where he can leave his heartbreak and data foes behind.
Neither expected to form a friendship or know what to do about their insane chemistry. With late nights, insides jokes, and the rare comfort they find in each other… lines blur, and the popular girl gets with the nerdy guy. Only, Freddie’s done this before and knows how it ends. His insecurities clash with Cami’s need to be picked first, so when Freddie has to choose where to attend his internship, he can either pick the job or the girl. And for the guy who’s set on protecting his heart, well, he might break hers in the process.
