Tonight I am doing something that goes against my nature. The first is I am going out tonight after 8pm. AFTER DARK?? Yuck. The second thing is I do not know where I am going or who I am seeing. Strange, but kind of exciting. Hubby bought tickets last week to a comedy show that we won’t know where until the email comes this morning, and we won’t know who the comedian is until we get there. Spontaneity is not my normal jam, but this time it sounded kinda fun. All we know about the location is that it is only 20 minutes from our house. Cool cool. Last month I went to an Edgar Allen Poe experience, this month a comedy show. I don’t even recognize myself anymore. Tee hee.

Revenge Inbound
She uncovered the truth. They let her die. Now her son is coming for all of them.

Tom Rourke was forged in the SAS — sharp, silent, and surgical. But when a mission in Latvia triggers a memory from his past, everything changes. A whispered phrase. A buried trauma. And a truth he was never meant to find.

His mother, Angela Rourke, was killed in a car bomb during the Troubles. The official story? A tragic civilian caught in the crossfire. The real story? She uncovered a covert arms pipeline — one linking ex-IRA fixers to sanctioned British intelligence operations. The government didn’t kill her. But they didn’t stop it either.

Now, Rourke wants answers. And he’s willing to burn every name in the file to get them.

From black sites in Eastern Europe to the streets of Belfast, Revenge Inbound is a cold, emotionally-charged SAS thriller about loyalty, betrayal, and the price of truth. As Rourke tracks the chain of command, he discovers the same system that let his mother die… trained him to kill.

Some ghosts aren’t meant to rest.
Some soldiers don’t forgive.
And Rourke isn’t here to follow orders.
He’s here to finish what she started.

For fans of Andy McNab, Chris Ryan, and gritty British black ops thrillers that pull no punches.

The Red Badge of Courage
by Stephen Crane
4.3 Stars (4,116 Reviews)

FREE for a limited time

Henry Fleming has joined the Union army because of his romantic ideas of military life, but soon finds himself in the middle of a battle against a regiment of Confederate soldiers. Terrified, Henry deserts his comrades. Upon returning to his regiment, he struggles with his shame as he tries to redeem himself and prove his courage. The Red Badge of Courage is Stephen Crane’s second book, notable for its realism and the fact that Crane had never personally experienced battle. Crane drew heavy inspiration from Century Magazine, a periodical known for its articles about the American Civil War. However, he criticized the articles for their lack of emotional depth and decided to write a war novel of his own. The manuscript was first serialized in December 1894 by The Philadelphia Press and quickly won Crane international acclaim before he died in June 1900 at the age of 28.
