It’s a funny thing to feel guilty for, but I do. Purely out of laziness I have yet to set the watering system outside to go off automatically each morning. I usually like to have it set to turn on at 5:30am, so it waters everything before the sun comes up and the bugs are awake. Specifically before the bumble bees come out of where ever it is that they live. It’s not until the sun comes up and the bugs have already woken up that I remember to turn the sprinklers on. Can you imagine? You just wake up and get out of bed and then WHOOOOOOSH SPLASH!! A huge spray of water knocks you out of orbit. So rude. You might want to leave the neighborhood. All this time I was typing I could have leaned over to hubby and asked him to set the timer. Yet I haven’t. Maybe later.

From a SPUR AWARD finalist

Cattle Rustlers, Native American migration, a stage hold-up, a deadly blizzard, guns, horses, cowboys, ranching… what more could you ask for? Oh yeah, there’s also romance.

Scratching a living out of the unforgiving landscape of the Dakota Badlands was tough enough. But now she had lost a daughter and a husband, and was trying to run a cattle ranch with her four semi-grown sons. When Phillip Denning showed up looking for work, she didn’t know if she could trust him, but she didn’t have much choice.

Reminiscent of Louis L’Amour’s style.

“I cannot imagine any condition which would cause a ship to founder. I cannot conceive of any vital disaster happening to this vessel.” – Captain Edward J. Smith

Just before midnight on April 14, 1912, the RMS Titanic, the largest ship in the world, hit an iceberg, starting a chain of events that would ultimately make it history’s most famous, and notorious, ship. In the over 100 years since it sank on its maiden voyage, the Titanic has been the subject of endless fascination, as evidenced by the efforts to find its final resting spot, the museums full of its objects, and the countless books, documentaries, and movies made about the doomed ocean liner. Thanks to the dramatization of the Titanic’s sinking and the undying interest in the story, millions of people are familiar with various aspects of the ship’s demise, and the nearly 1,500 people who died in the North Atlantic in the early morning hours of April 15, 1912. The sinking of the ship is still nearly as controversial now as it was over 100 years ago, and the drama is just as compelling.
