I wonder if the people who walk around the high school track the same time I do in the mornings think I am crazy. While my oldest is working out with his team in the gym at the school, I usually spend the hour and a half walking the track and doing a few exercises on the field. Seems normal right? Well, I am the only one out there that doesn’t have ear buds in. Rather than listen to music while I am working out, I  let my mind do what it wants to do. My thoughts often roam through things I want to do in the garden, or sometimes I come up with ideas of things I want hubby to make for me. Sometimes though I argue with people I am not too happy with. I have full blown conversations with them telling them (very eloquently I might add) why I am right and they are wrong. These conversations may be in my head, but my facial expressions give my thoughts away. Today I must have had quite a look on my face because the person who passed me going the opposite direction gave me quite a concerned look. I didn’t get to finish my argument. Maybe tomorrow I will listen to music.

DIY Easy Container Gardening

Enjoy Fresh Organic Herbs and vegetables All Year Round

Would you like to grow fresh, organic, natural herbs at home? Wouldn’t it be nice to skip the herbs and spices aisle in the grocery store? Would you like to learn how to dry and preserve the herbs you grow yourself?

Then my book about how to start and care for your own container herb garden is for you!

Instead of planting your herbs in the ground and subjecting yourself to the elements, you can actually plant them in pots and keep them wherever you want.

Have a windowsill that faces south and gets great light? Great. A porch? Even better. A room with some space and a free plug so you can plug in LED grow lights? That’ll work.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say the majority of folks, in the majority of situations, can successfully use containers to realize their dream of having a garden.

Container gardening works for me because I have the fresh herbs I want on demand, regardless of the weather.

Even if it’s the middle of winter or the height of the rainy months, I can grab the basil, thyme, or oregano that I need for a recipe or a salve. I never have to step outside, and I never have to worry about pests eating my leaves or deer taking a quick nibble.

With container gardening, you really only have to worry about buying a bag of soil and the container itself, plus whatever seeds or seedlings you want. You don’t have a ton of upfront expenses and very few continuing expenses.

I’ve broken this book down into a few easy to digest parts.

First, we’re going to look at the equipment you need and why you need it. Then, we’ll talk about picking a soil for your herbs that works for you. I’ll dive deep into how to get the most from your plants, whether you’re starting with seeds, seedlings, or picking up plants from a local greenhouse or gardening store. Finally, we’ll get into what you really want: details about each specific herb that I recommend for you to grow.

Here is a list of what you’ll learn in my book at a glance:

• What is Container Gardening?

• Who is Container Gardening Good For?

• What Can I Grow in Containers?

• Picking The Perfect Container for Your Herbs

• Choosing a Grow Light

• Do You Need a Greenhouse?

• What Each Ingredient in Your Soil Means

• Making Your Own Compost: Cheap, Easy, and Effective

• Planting 101: Starting from Seeds, Seedlings, or Cuttings

• Harvesting Your Hard Work

• Herbs for Medicinal Purposes: Making Salves and Poultices

• Preserving Your Herbs for Lasting Freshness

BONUS: Glossary of Gardening Terms

This book is perfect for anyone who doesn’t think they have a green thumb or for anyone who has a kitchen.
