SUCCESS!!! My partner in crime, hubby, and I, successfully fed 43 freshmen football players and seven coaches! I am not going to lie, I was stressed out about it. But everything turned out great! The funny thing was I had a nightmare about the salad the night before. It had gone bad and I was in a panic. That actually happened in real life! I took it out of the refrigerator yesterday morning and realized it was a mistake to have put it on the top shelf. It was frozen and gross looking. In the dream this was a huge deal, but in real life I just went to the store and bought more. Romain lettuce doesn’t cost a whole lot, so it was not the end of the world. Last night I had a dream I was on a spaceship with my family traveling around the galaxy. NICE! No more boring salad nightmares.

Death lurks beyond every corner. A bullet fired makes no sound, only its impact is heard.

After years in captivity, Oriya is set free. She escapes the cell that has been her world for far too long, as she joins Ori and Bar, who have rescued her from the nightmare she was trapped in for an eternity. In the cruel world that awaits her outside, her past is covered and unknown. She doesn’t even remember who she is, or what she was before she was imprisoned.

Ori leads her along this path, this is his role. He knows that he must bring her to her destination, to the end of her path, to restore her voice and allow her to be heard.

Oriya seeks to avoid violence, while he embraces it – as violence is the only way to survive in this cruel world.

Few know what really happened to the world. It is violent and cruel, but also full of beauty, resources, and food. The world is filled with strangers; groups of people who rule the land, fighting each other because of their minor differences, torturing and killing anyone who gets in their way, as their goal is to force their ideology upon others, and rid the world of anyone who is not a stranger like them.

The more progress Oriya makes on her journey, the harsher the encounters with the strangers become. Every confrontation helps her take one more crucial step towards the end, the truth, who she really is, but will her truth be heard?

Of a Strange World Made: Colony of Edge Novella Book 1
by Anthony W. Eichenlaub
4.2 Stars (21 Reviews)
Genre: Science Fiction

FREE for a limited time

On the cutting edge of humanity, rules are made for one thing.
No, it is not “to be broken.”
Biologist Ash Morgan loves breaking rules, but this is ridiculous. Edge is humanity’s bastion on the frontier of space and science. She plays fast and loose with the Edge’s ultra-strict governing AI, but even she’s willing to admit that maybe there are some laws not meant to be broken.
When a fellow colonist asks for help delivering a child, Ash agrees against her better judgment.
But something’s not right.
The birth will exceed the precise population cap set by the colony AI. Somehow those numbers need to balance.
And the child is born strange. Too strange. What experiments could produce a child like this? Who would do this?
When the mother descends into depression and madness, Ash must decide which rules can be broken, which rules must be obeyed, and which rules will inevitably lead to the colony’s ultimate destruction.
On the cutting edge of humanity, rules are made for one thing: to be followed perfectly with zero deviation.
Always.
Or else.
