I have mentioned that I am a bit intimidated by the X-Carve CNC machine that my hubby surprised me with for Christmas. The machine uses a computer to cut the designs out of wood or metal. So what does a person, who is VERY impatient with computers do? Recruit their kids of course. I got a bit of the basics of the design portion down, and then called the baby bassets in to learn what I had learned so far. The Easter bunny cutout wasn’t impressing them at all. I had to change my tactic. I downloaded a few of their favorite YouTuber logos and showed them how they could customize a sign for themselves. That caught their interest very quickly. Both of my boys will be able to pick up this machine pretty quickly, and soon will surpass my very limited knowledge. Then it’s time to put them to work! MWAHAHA

Half-Shawnee, half-French warrior Shoka, former guide for English traders, is the hawk, swift, sure, and silent as the moon. He knows all about survival in this untamed land and how deadly distraction can be. His intent is to sell Rebecca to the French before she draws him under her spell, but if he lets her go he can no longer protect her. If he holds onto her, can he safeguard his heart? For years scientists had warned about the real possibility of a global strike from outer space: a global killer. Mathematicians had calculated that once in approximately every sixty million years the Earth has been hit by a meteorite of such proportions it drastically changes our climate, plunging the world into a decade of nuclear winters.

In a post-apocalyptic world in which the sun has been replaced by near-darkness, the few remaining survivors have been forced underground to protect themselves from the evil predators that roam the surface above. Something else is out there, in the darkness, humanlike, but without a soul. Something that speaks intelligently, plans with cunning meticulousness and, just like its cousin, this new breed likes to hunt. Not the pitiful, scrawny livestock and wild animals that cling to life on the barren surface above.

No, this new breed hunts for something far more rewarding – US!
