Good morning everyone. Happy Thursday… we are almost to Friday! So I am sure you are all on the edge of your seats wondering how my trip to the dentist went. Well buckle up… when I first arrived (wearing a face mask) they have you check in and then you can go sit wherever you are comfortable, I stayed in the waiting room as no one else was there. Then they take your temperature and make you take hand sanitizer (which I already had when I came in so my hands were extra clean). Then they give you a funny mouth wash to kill more germs and then it is relatively normal except for the fact everyone is wearing a mask and face shield. Anyways my lady cleaned my teeth though she didn’t use a lot of water because she didn’t want it to spray?? (Not entirely sure why but oh well) Happy to report I have no cavities and good gums… yay! Wow that was a riveting story… maybe just read one of these books instead! -The Apprentice

Dead, snarky heroine? Check.

Dead, sarcastic BFF? Check.

Murdered ghost stuffed in a locker? Check.

Death is not what Bridget Sway expected. Not at all.

The afterlife is a mess of bureaucracy littered with nonsensical rules. It’s a fashion disaster for a uniform and a job that doesn’t pay. It’s a heinous communal living situation with housemates who have no concept of privacy or personal space. And it’s a handsome parole officer who is a stickler for those nonsensical rules that no one has bothered to explain.

As if all of that wasn’t bad enough, someone has stuffed a dead ghost in her locker… and the afterlife police are ready to pin the murder on her.

Despite the rumors, the US Government has been able to deny First Contact with an alien race for decades, but with good reason: it hasn’t happened yet.

When a strange signal comes from an isolated area in the forests outside of Seattle, they find that First Contact is not going to happen with big ships and grand world-wide messages. Aliens, it turns out, like to keep their existence quiet.

Breaking a great number of rules, Seattle’s resident alien has come back from a quick trip to his home planet to talk to his human wife. He just happened to land too close to a military base. Now, he will tell her the truth, even if he has to do it behind a glass wall and with the military between them.

Genre: Literature & Fiction | Contemporary Fiction | Romance | Women’s Fiction

Heather and Chris don’t hate each other… very much. And they don’t have sex all the time… at least not at first. Chris doesn’t go around shirtless, flexing his muscles and driving Heather wild… too often. And he doesn’t get jealous and possessive every time she goes out with another man… well, maybe occasionally.

But they definitely don’t fall in love… right away.

When Heather comes back to her hometown, she plans to take over her father’s historic restoration business and move into a beautiful converted apartment in Preston’s Mill. Then she finds out she’ll have to partner up with the one man she can never forgive. Chris Dole, who abandoned her father and betrayed her trust three years ago.

It gets even worse. They don’t just have to work together. They have to become roommates for six months to prove they can get along. That means Heather will have to play nice with Chris and put up with his obnoxiousness, his drop-dead sexiness, and his ugly recliner named Flo.
