At six in the morning I am a pretty simple person. I am a simple person who definitely has favorites. I know I am not supposed to have a favorite pet or child, but I do.  Now, it’s not hard to become the favorite, and I can have more than one favorite. Yes, I can have two favorites.. I am an adult and at six in the morning I will do what I like. Sinny rarely if ever is my favorite in the morning because he starts screaming for food at 5:30. He walks up and down the hall screaming and yelling and making his voice heard. He wants his breakfast now and will not stop until someone (and that is always me) gets him his breakfast. So…bottom of the favorites list he goes. Next is ALWAYs Casper. As soon as he hears Sinny, he starts yapping in the most annoying high pitched squeak you have ever heard. Whales have changed their migration pattern to avoid the sound. Godzilla has actually buried himself further down into his underwater cave to avoid that horrible noise. I however am not able to bury my head far enough, so I have to get up and feed them all. Junebug never wakes up earlier than she has to. While all of this chaos is going on, she sinks further back in her bed and stays super quiet. She is my favorite. My sweet sweet angel. It’s Summer break and both of my baby bassets sleep in pretty late, so they are always my favorite. See? It’s easy.

Their wedding was the event of the season… A shy wallflower, Caroline hasn’t the faintest idea why the Duke of Readington chose her to be his bride. She could ask, but that would mean speaking to him… and truth be told she’d rather have a conversation with the devil. Her new husband may be one of the most powerful men in all of England – not to mention the handsomest – but he’s also cruel, callous, and has a heart colder than ice.

But it was never meant to be a love match…
Eric married Caroline for one simple reason: he wasn’t in love with her. Having seen firsthand how love can bring a man to his knees, he’s determined not to make the same mistakes his father did. Which is why he’s going to spend just enough time with his new bride to assure himself of an heir before he leaves her and returns to London. At least that was the plan until a winter storm leaves them stranded. Now every time Eric turns around he finds himself stumbling over the wife he never wanted… but is slowly beginning to desire.
… or was it?
As cold winds howl outside the manor, inside of it a duke’s heart is finally starting to melt as he finds himself falling for the one woman he was never supposed to love… but can she love him in return?
