I am surprised that “Christmas in July” isn’t more popular. I find it to be an awesome kind of Christmas. I get all the joy of seeing the decorations in small amount in the stores (mostly just Costco… I don’t get out much), NONE of the Christmas music being drilled into your head in every store you visit, and best of all… NO GIFTS! You don’t have to buy a single gift for anyone. In fact, it’s perfectly okay to buy yourself a little something something to make yourself smile. No one is going to say you can’t buy yourself something so close to Christmas, because it isn’t close to Christmas. You might be thinking that I am celebrating Christmas in July because I want to buy myself something. Nope, I don’t really want anything. I already got my new vacuum, so I am good. There is a whole lotta sad in that last sentence. I better end it off on a less 1950’s housewifey note… Tonight the whole Basset family is going to the county fair for a country concert, funnel cake, and turkey legs. Yup…that makes up for the vacuum comment.
