Yesterday all these Halloween decorations looked pretty awesome. This morning not so much. How does candy corn find it’s way into EVERY corner of my house. Who keeps touching that stuff? It was decoration at the very bottom of a very tall jar. Must have come to life. Where did I even get all these decorations? Might have to get one of those POD containers. I feel kinda guilty that it’s November and I still have my Halloween decorations up. Better get on that.

For Alex Moreton, this case couldn’t have come at a worse time, battling with her partner over whether to have another child, she is superstitious about pushing their luck – they’re happy enough as they are… aren’t they? DS Kevin Coupland is dealing with a serious assault outside a wine bar in Swinton. Devoted family man Ricky Wilson is brutally stabbed following an altercation with youths while out with his wife and their children to celebrate her birthday. Coupland and Moreton’s cases merge when it transpires that Tracey and Ricky were tragically connected. Is it possible that there could be more to these two investigations than pure coincidence? And what was Tracey Kavanagh so frightened of she thought wiping out her family was the answer?

As the past collides with the present Coupland uncovers a tragic secret that will destroy Tracey’s family, or what’s left of it. Coupland must choose whether the truth shall come out – or be taken to the grave.

Geronimo’s Story of His Life: As Told to S. M. Barrett
by Geronimo, S. M. Barrett
4.2 Stars (370 Reviews)
Genre: History | Biographies & Memoirs

FREE for a limited time

A pivotal piece of nineteenth-century Native American history from a tireless warrior seeking justice for his people.

Storied leader of the Bedonkohe band of the Chiricahua Apache tribe, Geronimo led resistance against Mexican and American troops seeking to drive the Apache from their land during the 1850s through the 1880s. In 1886, he finally surrendered to the US Army and became a prisoner of war. Although he would never return to his homeland, Geronimo became an iconic figure in Native American society and even had the honor of riding with President Theodore Roosevelt in his 1905 inaugural parade. That same year, he agreed to share his story with Stephen M. Barrett, a superintendent of education from Lawton, Oklahoma.

In Geronimo’s own words, this is his fascinating life story. Beginning with an Apache creation myth, he discusses his youth and family, the bloody conflicts between Mexico and the United States, and his two decades of life as a prisoner. Revered by his people and feared by his enemies, Geronimo narrates his memoir with a compassionate and compelling voice that still resonates today.
