My goodness this has been a VERY eventful afternoon! I was on my way back to you my ever adoring fans, and the ladies kept asking me questions very obviously trying to slow me down… when I finally squawked enough the gave up and let me pass, and right when I was going to the door the cat jumped in front of it! Now Sinatra and I are pretty good friends but he refused to move… finally I persuaded him with a promise of catnip (after this I will be amazon shopping). I can’t tell if this was a team effort or not, but I don’t know if they’re ready to give up just yet… I hope they do… Ta Ta for now Jackie

Cycling the Great Divide… alone?

The first thing you’ve got to ask yourself is: “What the hell am I doing?”

At least, that’s what Nathan was saying less than two miles into the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, when he encountered his first major problem and his first major decision: turn back to Banff, or press on?

It was all uphill from there.

Life on the GDMBR

As an amateur cyclist with no touring experience, Doneen pulls you into a world of erratic weather, cramped bivy sacks, and overwhelming solitude as he crisscrosses the Continental Divide on his way to the U.S.-Mexico border, bumping into Tour Divide racers, stumbling upon CDT hikers, and surprising all sorts of Rocky Mountain wildlife.
