I am used to being wrong. It’s kinda my thing. I am also used to suffering the consequences of my wrongness. I accept this. Last night I had to accept the consequences once again when I signed up for a flexibility class at the gym. I was feeling a bit guilty for some sinning I did, but not guilty enough to want to do any hardcore exercising. I thought a nice easy thing would be just stretching. It’s just stretching. I am doing something active, but not all that active. Perfect, right? Oh nope nope nope. The instructor had us bending in ways that God never intended. I couldn’t even argue or complain because it said it right there in the title of the class what we were doing, so yaaa. I was caught a little by surprise when the instructor, while I was in a very venerable position, came over and pulled my legs further apart and pushed on my back. “Do you feel that?” AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! (the scream was in my head). I grunted a yes. I was no longer able to speak because my lungs had folded into a shape I was saw in a book of Oragami. I think my brain up and left. I was grateful for that because I didn’t want to remember that horrible feeling. While we were holding the inhuman positions the instructor was talking about favorite shows we were currently watching. Everyone was able to carry on a rather pleasant conversation while their bodies were defying gravity. I could not. Still can’t because I am still confused by what my body had done. I think I might try that again on Wednesday. I often love traveling to other universes.

Homesick and heartbroken, Raihana bravely attempts to start a new life, trying hard not to ponder the fate of her husband, who was taken prisoner by the Taliban and never heard from again.

Soon after arriving, Raihana finds herself in a language school, struggling to learn Danish, which she thinks sounds like the buzzing of bees. To improve her speaking skills, Raihana apprentices herself to Gunnar, a recent widower who is steadily withdrawing from the world around him, even neglecting the bee colonies he worked so hard to cultivate with his late wife. Over the course of the bee season, Raihana and Gunnar forge an unlikely relationship, despite the disapproval of their friends and relatives. But when the violence Raihana thought she had left behind in Afghanistan rears its head, she and Gunnar are forced to confront the ghosts of the past as they navigate the uncertain future.
