I think I might be getting a cold. I am coughing and my head is getting stuffed up. While I can still function I better clean the house and scrub those bathrooms. Laundry must get done, and while I am at it I should clean out a few closets. I want to make sure I am fully prepared to enjoy my sicky time. I will mow the lawn again just in case.

Under normal circumstances, Ben and Mina would never have had reason to speak to each other. He’s an easy-going people person with a healthy skepticism about the paranormal; she’s a dangerously obsessive monster-hunter with a crippling fear of betrayal. But the small Northern California town of Prospero, with its rich history of cryptid sightings, miracles, and mysterious disappearances, has no normal circumstances to offer.

When Ben’s missing childhood friend, Haley Perkins, stumbles out of Prospero’s surrounding woods and right into her own funeral, Ben and Mina are forced to work together to uncover what happened to her. Different as they are, their unlikely friendship may be the only thing that can save the town, and possibly the world, from its insidious invaders.

Abe put an end to the threat of the Devourer once and for all.

So why does the world keep getting more dangerous?

Unsettling events pile up one after another: animal corpses appear on the front porch each night, an abandoned graveyard in the North Carolina woods is now home to something unnatural, and wooden men with eerily familiar faces are spotted lurking in the nearby town of Halfway.

Abe finds himself caught in a game set in motion long before the rise of mankind. A game in which even the Devourer was merely a pawn and where losing means the death of every man, woman, and child on earth.

Standing with him are the survivors of Belmont: Anne, Chuck, Leon, and his old squadmate, Henry “The Professor” Monroe. Together they intend to hold the line against the encroaching darkness and prove that there are still things in the light to be feared.

Kate

I had the perfect life. Then an accident took everything I loved.
After two years of barely getting by, I need to get away from here.
My plan? Drive across the country until I find a new place to live. There is just one problem with that. I have to take an old family friend along for the ride.
At first, I don’t know what to make of Ryan Grant or the way it feels like he can see through me with those gorgeous green eyes of his. He’s got secrets. And he’s definitely holding a lot back.
But wow, there’s so much more to him than I expected.
Not that it matters really, my heart and mind are trapped in the past.

Ryan

I’ve never had the perfect life. And lately work seems to be my only focus.
Probably because I’ve been betrayed a time or two by people I thought I could trust. By people who were only after me for one thing. So I’m moving west from Philly to Seattle.
There is just one problem with that. I don’t fly. Ever.
So when Katie Taylor offers to drive me across the country, how can I say no? She is my dream girl after all. Always has been.

But is her tragic past too much for her to overcome?
