The train in Marin and Sonoma county has been running test runs with passengers for the past few weeks for free, so hubby, the baby bassets and I are going to take a ride today to visit the family and have a birthday lunch with Oma. I am pretty excited to see parts of the two counties that I have never seen before. I have lived in this area all my life and I remember seeing the trains when I was a child, but they were never for passengers, and they stopped running years ago. I will admit I am a bit nervous, but there will be cake once we get to Omas house, so that’s a delightful distraction.

HE KNOWS TOO MUCH — BUT HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT HE KNOWS…
Things were going lousy for ex-reporter Paul Mcdonald: No money, no girl friend, no bright new career as a mystery novelist… and then along came private investigator Jack Birnbaum with an offer: he’d detect, and Paul would write the client reports. It wasn’t much, but it would keep Spot the cat in Kitty Queen tidbits.

But then somebody poisoned Jack in Paul’s own living room. A day that begins with a body in your house really ought to get better, but next comes burglary and after that, assault-by-cop. And Paul’s got a feeling that’s just the beginning. There must have been something someone didn’t want him to know in one of those client reports. But what?

The wise-cracking, funny, but slightly depressed ex-journalist better become an ace private investigator in about two seconds — or end up like his detective mentor.

Birnbaum’s last report concerned a kidnapped child, so Paul begins there. The trail leads him to the laboratory of a Nobel laureate geneticist, and then to San Francisco City Hall, where an extremely nasty surprise awaits. But there’s an upside — lovely witness Sardis Kincannon. Nothing like falling in love while you’re running for your life!

When all hope for moving on from a life filled with pain was gone, Emily Watson closed herself off to the world, packed her bags, and moved across the country in search of a new life. What she found was a career she adored and friends whom she loved. It wasn’t a full and complete life, but it was definitely better than what she knew before.

When all hope for being loved and accepted for who he was instead of what he had was gone, Taylor Carter decided that trusting people outside of his family wasn’t really smart and would only lead to disappointment. With his world turned upside down, his life became about his work, and every new relationship was meaningless and superficial. He was safe, and definitely content, but never truly happy.

When all hope for staying awake during a long day was gone, Emily and Taylor found themselves at the same coffee cart. Little did they know then that the worst coffee they’d ever drank would forever change their lives.

When hopeless people are blinded by an endless pain. When contentment and safety fells like the best option, and love seems impossible, they may just find an EXCEPTION.

GHOST AND GRAMMAR ARE THE LEAST OF HER WORRIES

Human bones showing up on the campus of the high school where she teaches have newly divorced Annie Day feeling rattled, both at school and at home with her four-year-old son. The ghost in her attic now seems mundane compared to the haunting bones creating a citywide panic.
Bone after bone appears at the school, and Annie soon finds herself in the wrong hall at the wrong time. Annie stumbles into an ominous underworld of threatening notes and a stalker. Even her father’s cowboy stories and the cowboy spirit of the students in her second hour American Lit class may not be able to keep Annie from starring on a Dateline murder mystery episode.
Ghosts and grammar are the least of her worries.
When Annie finally uncovers the tormentor behind the notes, her life is in danger. You won’t believe the shocking ending to this romantic thriller.
