My poor guinea pig Peanut is going to have identity issues. Originally we named him Eagan. A perfectly wonderful name, but we eventually decided that it just wasn’t a good fit. My youngest basset and I picked the name Peanut because he is as cute as a little peanut. The issue seemed settled until my hubby decided he liked the name Milton best. I have to agree that Milton is a pretty awesome name, but I have already decided on Peanut and that’s that. I wish it was that easy. My oldest baby basset just can’t remember that we changed his name and still calls him Eagan. Hubby likes Milton better and refuses to call him anything else. My youngest and I call him Peanut because we are stubborn and like the name better. I guess it doesn’t really matter because the little guy still runs and hides from us. Unless we are bringing dinner.

“It was the kind of morning that made him wonder if God hated the Irish… ”

Dublin has been on a knife-edge since the failed rebellion in July, and Jimmy O’Flaherty suspects a newcomer to The Liberties – Kitty Doyle – is mixed up in it. She accuses him of spying for the English, and he thinks she’s a reckless troublemaker.

All Jimmy wants is to earn enough coin to buy passage to America. But when the English turn his trading patch into a gallows, Jimmy finds himself drawn into the very conflict he’s spent his whole life avoiding.

“Liberty Boy is a riveting tale of an overlooked rebellion, told from the perspective of the streets, with gifted dialogue that is more heard than read and unexpected twists that leave you breathless from first page to last.” – Cindy Vallar, Historical Novel Society Review.

OIL SUPPLIES MYSTERIOUSLY BEGIN TO VANISH WITHOUT A TRACE, SENDING CIVILIZATION INTO CHAOS.

When his wife was murdered during a mission, Alex Cave quit the CIA for a less stressful life as a geology instructor. At least, that was his plan.

While on vacation sailing the waters of the Puget Sound, Alex sees a brilliant flash of light from an oil tanker and changes course to help. He discovers there was no explosion, no one on board, and the oil has mysteriously vanished without a trace. The bodies of the missing crew are found 100-miles away in the snow on Mount Baker, but there are no footprints leading in or out of the area. Alex’s only clue is a dollar-size crystal found in the hold of an empty oil tanker, which under a high-powered microscope, appears to be alive.

The Reverend Menno Simons, an environmental fanatic, leads his followers on a crusade to rid the world of crude oil. His disciples carry innocuous vials of powdered crystals to oil-rich countries to contaminate their supplies. Civilization descends into chaos when the lack of fuel keeps basic necessities from reaching the inner cities, pitting human against human in a desperate attempt to survive the madness spreading across the planet.

In the United States, a crazy militia group surfaces, who at first offer military-type protection to those who come to their compound, and Harold Wooley, a sniveling coward with a domineering wife, thinks he can save his family from a world-gone-mad by joining the radical civilian army. But as the group undergoes a drastic change in command, things get out of control when their new leader kills without compunction. The situation goes from bad to worse when the new leader forces members into prostitution, and Harold must dig deep inside his soul if he is to discover the courage to save his family from their living nightmare.

How can Alex find a way to stop Menno and his followers before civilization reaches total collapse?
