In this household preparing for New Years Eve is a lot like preparing for the Apocalypse. The countdown clock has been set and soon all the crazies will be out. They can’t drive, they are out of their mind, and they will steal all of your pastries. That last one is more my fear, but the threat is out there. As soon as that sun sets, no one is allowed to leave the house. I might make an exception if there is a really good Pokemon at the park, but absolutely no driving. Today we must gather supplies; food, candles, cake, maybe a nifty little outfit so I look cute, and party hats (cheap ones from the clearance rack that say Congratulations Graduates. We need to recover from Christmas spending. OUCH!). I need to make a list.

Kaia is haunted by fingerprints marring the basement door. No matter how hard she scrubs, they return day after day. The only things in the cellar are old Halloween decorations, and she double checks, everyday. Connor has sighted the most miraculous and mysterious thing in his life. Either no one else can see them, or no one believes it. Ice balls larger than a fist smash to the ground regularly. When the church bells ring just right, another one falls. Laurel knows animals can talk. Sometimes they ask her to do things. One will explain why they have always been drawn to her. By that time, she has grown and so have they; into hideous demons with terrible demands. Three tales of fear, confusion and hopelessness from the author of Nightface, Lydia Peever .:.
Horror, weird tales, stories of the supernatural. Call them what you will, these three tales were too long to be considered short by most markets and not long enough to be novellas. It takes only as many words used to tell a story; no more and no less. Instead of hacking Pray Lied Eve into pieces, we bind these three into one offering. .:.

Razvan Popescu lives in a flat overlooking the seaside town of Skegness. He keeps himself to himself and few know the man at all. Even fewer know his past, which he has tried to leave behind in the Romanian woods. But when a tattooed man is found murdered on the beach, it is clear that some of that past has followed him to this tacky seaside town. As battle erupts within the criminal fraternity, dark forces gather around the town and Popescu’s acquaintances find themselves dragged into a world of violence, fire and fairy tales. One thing is certain: the circus has come to town.
