FINALLY!!!! Gosh golly it has finally happened. My oldest basset has finally discovered the joy of reading! We have gone through countless books trying to find something that pulls him in and really shows him why reading is such a fantastic experience. What finally did it was the Chronicles of Narnia. We read the first book together and for the first time I actually saw a spark of interest. The further along we got the more excited he was to see what happened next, and he didn’t want to stop reading. He flew through the second book, The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, and we have the third book ready for him tonight. It is these successes that make all the searching worth it.
