Every time I go to Costco I want to buy myself a little present like a set of colorful pens or a couch. Maybe a boogie board in case I feel the need to be a cool mom. I never get to be a cool mom, so the boogie board would definetly help with the coolness factor. On those rare occasions when just my hubby goes to Costco I always add a present for me to the list. My justification is I worked hard all week and deserve one, or I deserve one just for having to go to Costco even though I really like it. That doesn’t make it any less a chore. I have a problem. I must seek help, and I will. Right after this next trip.

Sam is branching out as a writer. He’s finally got a gig with a travel magazine – and it means going to the Caribbean. Of course, Walter is coming as the unofficial photographer – and owner of a brand new, DSLR. It just wouldn’t be right for Sam to send the magazine pictures from his phone. What could be better than a nice, relaxing, working vacation to the Caribbean? They’ll never know. This adventure is immediately interrupted with strange, threatening phone calls, a break-in, a possible kidnapping and dodging bullets while running for their lives. And all over a couple of strange coconuts that happen to be in someone’s luggage. Before they’ve had their fill, Sam and Walter will be delivering these coconuts – or else! A coconut ransom? Can it get any weirder than this? If you like Mango Bob, Lawrence Block, Mike Faricy, or mysteries set in Florida, Key West, the Caribbean, the Virgin Islands, or other tropical locales, or just cozy mysteries in general, then you’ll probably enjoy the entire Coconut Chronicles series and other stories by Cam Larson.

Genre: Historical Fiction | Literary Fiction

The House on Sunflower Road is a poetically mesmerizing tale of the South which seduces its readers into wondering: Who is (or was) the natural father of protagonist Odella Jumaane (beautiful, courageous, 19-years-old, sole occupant of Nonsuch, an isolated home on a large fenced in plot of land located several miles outside of tiny Reedy Creek, Georgia)? Was it deceased Baba Yesu Jumaane to whom she was “Binti” (a Swahili term for daughter) throughout her early years? And was he married to her mother, LuElla, at the time of her unexpected death? And did he—or did others—cause that death? Next, enter Luc Sweetwater (young, wearing an eye patch, with strange ties to Yesu Jumaane) to whom Odella is physically attracted but wary of his trustworthiness. Finally, there is Tully Blanchard who has recently moved into a home near Nonsuch and whose interest in Odella appears abnormal. Is he someone to fear? Or to befriend? There are also others: persons who know all about Odella’s parentage but are reluctant to come forward.
