It just got real in the hen house! Jackie has been broody for a few weeks now and this morning when I let her and the rest of the flock out to eat up all my pretty flowers and terrorize my yard, Jackie was still sitting in the coop. I decided she needed fresh air, so I put her out in the yard. She did not agree with my decision and decided to take it out on Summer. Oddly enough, Summer said no. Then she said no again and again. It seems Jackie’s status as head chicken is in question right now. It’s looking like a soap opera out in the yard. Heather is siding with Summer, Naughty is getting a head pecking from Jackie, and the new chicks are staying as far away from the chaos as possible. I am going to grab myself a coffee and watch the action unfold.
