Last night was the first night the younger chicks have slept in the main coop with the original four ladies, and I couldnt be happier. All this time the new four chickens have been sleeping on the landing just below the opening to the coop. They are all secure and warm, but I have not liked them sleeping outside the nest box area. I had no clue it was going to be this much drama to get four new chicks. Everything I read said it would take about a week or two for everyone to get acclimated and establish their pecking order, but things would settle down. It seems to be taking much much longer than that. Naughty still perches herself right in the opening of the coop at night and pecks at the new chicks when they try to get inside. I don’t know what happened last night, but they busted through her barrier and made it in. Maybe they also realized they were twice her size now. Either way, last night seemed like the fist step to them becoming one big flock instead of two. I guess I can relax a bit now.

Spoiled rich party girl Taffy Belair is in trouble. Again. This time her grandmother is banishing her to a small coastal town in Oregon to clean up her act. Cut off from familiar luxuries and expected to work and take care of a house and herself, Taffy could care less about fitting into the quirky town of Abandon. Without her posse of girls or even good coffee, let alone a party scene, she starts stirring up new trouble. Hunky handyman Ethan is a good start. But when she stumbles over a possible murder, Taffy transforms from party girl to amateur detective. Now she’s getting into more trouble than she ever did back in New York. She’s unearthing secrets and upsetting the locals. Is this quaint seaside enclave really the “Sweetest Town on the Coast,” or is it rotten to the core? With the help of new friends, Taffy must risk her life to capture a killer before the town’s body count increases by a factor of one stylish blonde (in need of a manicure).
