I think it’s time to rip up the final two tomato plants and bring the summer garden to a close. The plants are no longer producing any new fruit, and we still need to conserve water. The drought is so bad in some cities that restaurants have been ordered to no longer use plates, glasses, or utensils, but rather they must switch to paper plates and plastic forks to cut down on dish washing. That just seems a little crazy to me. I was almost thinking the news reporter was joking with us. How can one cut steak on a paper plate?
