I was a good and responsible parent today and I did not play hooky with my kids. I think just knowing I could if I wanted to gave me a boost of energy, that and the cup of coffee. I learned years ago to never make any decisions before the first cup of coffee is finished. This is one of those days when I believe it’s okay to grab a full gallon of ice cream and a spoon and declare that I deserve this because I am going to work hard. Then after the weekend on Sunday night grab another gallon and reward myself for working hard. My logic is always a little off.

Welcome to Northstar, Montana, where friendship and love triumph, and wounded hearts find a place to call home.

Aelissm Davis figured she would eventually return home to Northstar, Montana, but not like this—desperate for the tranquility of the secluded valley and plagued by memories of her dead boyfriend and the advances of an obsessive former friend. Just when she begins to relax, a call from her old friend makes it clear he wasn’t deterred, and she calls her overprotective uncle for advice. Things become even more tangled when he sends Patrick O’Neil “on vacation” to keep an eye on her. Aelissm is pretty sure her uncle is playing matchmaker again, but despite her annoyance, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to Pat. He is a haunted man with a kind smile and sad eyes, and he may just be the best thing to ever happen to her… if she can convince him to stay.

A NOTE ON THE CONTENT: The NORTHSTAR ROMANCES (both the Northstar Angels series and the Hammond Brother series) are contemporary romances, and as such, they contain sensual scenes and mild profanity, neither of which is explicit or gratuitous for the genre but which may be unsuitable for sensitive readers.
