If I was an elf, I wouldn’t be a toy maker elf or a baker elf (for obvious reasons, I would play or eat all day long). I would be one of the elves that cares for the reindeer. It would be awesome to ride one of those guys through the snow, chasing polar bears. This time of year the polar bears are a bit slow and out of shape from drinking all that Coca Cola. Someone should really educate the polar bears on the hazards of drinking too much cola. It’s just not healthy.

Tattoo Charlie is part road story, part antiwar story, part coming of age story, the story of a generation caught on the fence between the 1960s and the 1970s. From Burlington VT to Big Sur in California, from Berkeley to Boston by way of Fort Sam in San Antonio and the big antiwar marches on Washington in 1969 and 1970, Tattoo Charlie paints a detailed portrait of times and places that are immortalized in popular music but fast fading from our cultural memory. They always say about the Sixties that if you can remember them, you probably weren’t there. But this story is from someone who was there and does remember.

This is the third book in the “Magical Globe Adventure” series of illustrated bedtime adventure stories for young children, written by Elliot Gight.

In this episode, brother and sister, Coen and Calleigh have another escapade together after visiting their grandfathers old bookshop and touching his Magical Globe.

This adventure takes them to a Treasure Island where they learn the history of the Magical Globe that their grandfather has in his old bookshop.

Coen and Calleigh find lots of exotic wild-life on the island and are captured by pirates who are searching for buried treasure there.

The pirates make the children walk the plank on their pirate ship – but they manage to escape and make their way back to the safety of their grandfathers bookshop.

The books in the Magical Globe Adventure series are a set of exciting and mysterious adventures experienced by Coen and Calleigh, where the children find themselves in intriguing and unexpected situations before (always) finding a way of getting safely back to their grandfather.

The author of the series is Elliot Gight – an acclaimed children’s writer who describes her writing style as being one of letting her “imaginative eccentricities” run riot and then converting the results into children’s adventures.

We hope you enjoy this, the third episode in the Magical Globe Adventure series.
