Well, if I didn’t have enough adventure in my life, that issue will be solved today. This time it’s Muckfest with it’s 3.5 miles and twenty obstacles in the mud. I like mud apparently. Must be good for the skin or something. I think I am really going to enjoy this one, you must be 12 years old and older to participate, so how hard can it be? And there are no electrocutions. YES!! I had no idea when I took my friend to Tough Mudder I was creating a mud junkie. I think this might become our thing, obstacle courses in the mud. Should have got her into cupcake eating contest.

Emily Rylands
(68 Reviews)
Genre: Mystery, Thriller & Suspense
FREE for a limited time
The Lightower family has been hunting down paranormal phenomena in the small town of North Harbor for generations. Unlike the rest of her family, Wendy Lightower has never dreamed of chasing evil witches or unearthing magical secrets. Her greatest ambition in life is to be a full-time librarian and leave her witchy roots far behind her. But when a murder is committed in her very own library, Wendy cannot ignore that there is no natural explanation for the killing. If the killer is to be caught, she must call on family and friends alike to solve the magical murder.
When she chose books over boogeymen and libraries over lycans, Wendy thought she would finally be able to live a ‘normal’ life. Now, her library is no longer the sanctuary she imagined it to be, and there may just be a killer hiding in the stacks.
Murder Most Witchy is the first in a new series of paranormal mysteries by Emily Rylands. Intriguing and humorous, it will keep you guessing until the very end.

The Bookie’s Runner
Brendan Gisby
(21 Reviews)
Genre: Biographies & Memoirs
FREE for a limited time
Bob Dylan wrote the classic song “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” and thereby unforgettably marked the passing of an otherwise insignificant character in the movie “Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid”.
Brendan Gisby has written this utterly beautiful novella to honour the short life of his father, a man of seemingly as little significance.
The story is narrated with haunting subtlety, rhythm and depth of feeling by his teenage son as he takes a bus ride back to school for the first day of a new term, where he will have to announce his father’s sudden death and deal with the resultant reactions without bursting into tears. He also has to come to terms with the fact that, on reflection, there is a huge amount he doesn’t know about his father and that all he is really left with are snippets of personal memories.
Make no mistake, THE BOOKIE’S RUNNER is a modern masterpiece. In writing it, Brendan Gisby has not only honoured his father, he has ennobled him.
