My little chickies are mad at me again. Apparently they have forgotten what rain is. I can’t blame them though. I think in their lifetime they have only experienced it about 4 or 5 times. They are standing in the coop just looking at me and clucking angrily. I think they want me to turn off the sprinkler. There must be a malfunction because the sprinkler wont stop. Sorry ladies. This is one sprinkler I can’t just turn off.

* This collection is only 34-pages long and can be read in less than an hour.

“Undaunted: Five True Stories from World War II” is a brief collection of short stories of heroes from World War II who served in the U.S. Army, the U.S. Army Air Corps, the U.S. Marines, and the U.S. Merchant Marines.

These stories are from both theaters – European and Pacific – and they span the length of the war. First we meet a young artillery officer who devises a plan to keep the Japanese at bay while besieged in the Philippines. Then we walk beside a soldier who loses his leg after the infamous Bataan Death March. Next we leap from a crippled plane with a bombardier in the skies over Nazi-occupied France, then sail with a Merchant Seaman through the U-boat infested waters of the Mediterranean, and finally stand with an awestruck Marine in the middle of downtown Nagasaki.

“Undaunted: Five True Stories from World War II” adds the tales of these courageous men to the historic record of American bravery and sacrifice during World War II.

An Assassinated Man

Genre: Mystery, Thriller & Suspense

INSPIRED BY A TRUE STORY, An Assassinated Man draws from real events leading to one man being the intended target and the primary suspect in the murder of his long-time friend and law partner.

The author has worked for the surviving attorney, read all the transcripts of the actual case, and interviewed players in and around the actual murder and trial. An Assassinated Man draws from the true themes within our criminal justice system, that the outcomes in court can be a distant cousin from the truth.

Reliance on informants willing to say anything to cut a deal, government officials looking out for their own, and for expedient ends, as well as outright corruption. Only persistence and willingness to change can lead to the truth – and even then, what we know as the truth can be in error.

An Assassinated Man follows Rick Detner, who, in the face of assassins still after him, and the government seeking the death penalty for a murder he did not commit, is as good as dead. And if he’s as good as dead, he decides, why not be willing to sacrifice himself to save others, especially the people he has neglected all his life.

It’s the one response his enemies never expected, and his only hope to survive.
