I have decided I was going to try to do real pushups, no bent knee thing for me. I can’t really say why I get on these weird kicks, but  for some reason I feel the need to be able to do real pushups. The other night I started with five. Okay… that hurt. Is it supposed to hurt that much? That was a bit disturbing and made me want to rethink the whole pushup thing. What real world use would I have for being able to do a pushup? While I pondered that last night I attempted six pushups. This took me a lot longer than it should have and my pup was getting worried so he decided to help me by cralwing under me. This did not help. I discovered the real world application for pushups. So as to not squish my pup I had to do a pushup (big sigh). I’m sore…..again.

Genre: Biographies & Memoirs

‘Well… I Guess I’m Not Jesus’ is a true story or memoir by Adam Helbling. The main focus of the book is on his struggles with both bipolar disorder and a spinal cord injury.

In 2008 his struggles with bipolar disorder led him into a downward spiral where he made a series of bad decisions, including drug abuse and a spending spree. He ended up in a psychiatric hospital, ultimately believing that he was the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Medications including antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, as well as excessive psychological therapy helped him to regain control of his mind.

Just two years after his first manic episode, at the age of 23, he helped lead the Ohio State Waterski Team to a National Title. Three months later he almost died in a serious car accident fueled by a second manic episode, but it wasn’t over. He suffered a serious spinal cord injury and was left paralyzed from the chest down.

‘Well… I Guess I’m Not Jesus’ concludes with his redemption after the accident where he found a life better than ever before. It includes a unique message and perspective for the audience. Readers will find this to be a one-of-a-kind account about someone who has lost both their mind and their body in the same lifetime.

It’s not always the bad kids that make the mistakes. The journey starts where Adam had great success both in academics and involvement and was chosen to be a member of the SPHINX Senior Class Honorary in 2008. Only 24 students are chosen each year that best represent The Ohio State University.

As he once thought that he was the self-proclaimed “Marijuana Poster Child,” you will read about how the drug made him self-destructive where he pulled off some crazy and hilarious shenanigans.

The journey has its peaks of highs and lows, but in the end a great message is spread through all that was learned throughout the journey. It will make you take a second look at your life and make you ask, “What exactly is my purpose on this earth?”

THEIR FIRST MISTAKE was ever telling the world about the wonders they had found.

They should have kept it all a secret. If they’d kept it a secret, fewer people would have died. When archaeologists uncover the largest ancient safe in the world, the wrong kinds of people will show up: criminals, mercenaries, treasure hunters.

THEIR SECOND MISTAKE was opening it.

Why would an ancient culture devote three generations to build a giant stone safe? Why would they bury it so the jungle could hide it from the world? Why ritually sacrifice one hundred thousand people to ensure its secrecy?

THEIR LAST MISTAKE proved the biggest.

This last mistake hurt the most. Their last mistake was to assume that nothing had been left behind to keep guard….
