Wowza! Great images! Super information! This book could be valuable for kids as a learning tool, as well as a prepper for art and art interpretation, too. Short, concise, to the point, entertaining, inspirational, educational, artful. And, the price! Again, Wowza! For less than a specialty coffee at a coffee shop, too. And, even though I love coffee, it's gone in a few minutes, whereas this little gem lasts on and on and on. I am 61 years old, and sort of a crusty ole grandpa. Yet, I loved it. And, I will be sharing it with my grandkids on their next visit. The author put time, energy, thought, and care into this little book... But, even more, I can tell the author put some love into it as well. You can feel the energy and spirit in the words carefully woven around each image. I am a rockhound, so I especially liked the part about the rocks and fossils. What a gem for a just a small investment.

Its amazing how we pass nature every day and take it for granted, I'd never realized how many beautiful patterns there were around me until I read this book. From the massive patterns off in space to the smallest insect and its body markings. This is a lovely book not just for its great color photos but for the thought provoking message inside it, its definitely caused me to pay more attention to what's around me.

The Kindle book has a fully interactive table of contents, which links to each image. Some images are spectacular, while the rest are of acceptable reasonably high quality. There are only a couple of images that don't look as good as they should on my HD screen. Considering the quality of most similar offerings, this is a ringing endorsement.

The commentary ranges from nearly poetic imagery, to insightful observations, to a couple of instances of merely stating the obvious. Aside from a handful of minor errors (mostly to do with verb agreement), the text is well written and grammatically correct. Again, compared to other Kindle books I've seen, this one is well above the rest.

Overall, this is quite a nice compilation of images, which will likely start your child exploring nature to observe patterns for themselves. It's also a very pretty book to simply leaf through, for adults as well as kids. If this type of book is of interest, I highly recommend it.

I must confess, until I read Nature's Patterns - Nature Photo Essay, I hadn't really appreciated how beautiful and intricate the world around us is.

We all see the insects, animals, flora and fauna, the changes in the elements, but how many of us really appreciate how beautiful everything is.

Whenever, I've seen caterpillars and butterflies, I've just thought them pretty, but now this unusual book has opened my eyes to how different each individual is with regards to shapes, and colours, I will now be looking at the wonder of Mother Nature quite differently.

It isn't every day that you come across pictures that take your breath away. As a photographer, teacher and nature enthusiast I love what Meg has done to create the special wonder that nature's patterns bring to us. The words that she uses to bring life to nature's symmetry, even some of our less lovely creatures (mites, for example) draw you in, as a reader, and add depth to this book. As I read the book, at least two things happened: 1. I wanted to take out my camera and go find some sunflowers to photograph, and 2. it gave me a greater appreciation for nature, itself. She includes a myriad of nature's best from all categories: animal, vegetable and mineral. What a treat to be able to share this book with children.
