I was intrigued with this book the moment I read the summary. So much of it hit home and I felt the need to read Avery's story to help me process my own. I loved how Tammy interweaved Christian values and beliefs throughout the book in the prayers before each chapter, as well as through each character's development. The end message was beautiful and has given me a revival I knew I needed but wasn't able to access on my own. I wish more YA and relationship novels were written in this way and with similar themes and values, because our society is lacking in this area and people are becoming lost in the darkness...Tammy, thank you for bringing some light into this world through your words and characters 💛

A great use of 383 pages!

I found about this author from one of my favourite book reviewers (Iola). But I'm usually a bit reluctant to bite the bullet and purchase a book by an author I haven't read before, especially one with a synopsis that did little to pique my interest. I'm usually happy to try a free sample and that was what this was. It turned out to be one of my favourite reads in the past few months.

Although the first couple of chapters came off as cliche young adult type fiction, the book very quickly became more and more intriguing, and I was engaged to the last page. I finished it all in one sitting! It's well-paced with a great story arch. I loved it. I give t 4.7 stars.

It would have come across as a bit too light on the spiritual fare but is anchored by the beautiful prayers at the start of each chapter. I have never really got the 'pray for your future spouse' idea until reading these. Very touching and so apt. This is not a strait-laced book touting pious perfection, but is very realistic is so many ways and I can imagine making a lot of the same decisions the characters did. And in fact, I think Avery's reactions and yo-yo-ing between Jake and Parker is such a great metaphor for life's struggles and is a great representation of the universal battle of good vs evil.

Parker's angle is a bit more complex though. It was great that he didn't let their physical relationship go off the deep end, but one has to question his long-term plan. Was he going to get 'unequally' yoked and pray she'd come round in time? Also, he put himself in compromising situations so many times it started to get old. At least, he didn't hide behind a missionary dating lie, because there was little evangelising being done and it was clear he just really liked Avery. :-D

Thanks to Ms Gray for free access to this book. I look forward to getting the others in the series as well as her other books.

One of the Best books and most Relevant Christian Romance fiction I've ever come across. The plot is simple yet brilliant and the characters are so real! Avery is a character who I can totally relate to. Beautiful writing. It indeed makes one believe wholeheartedly in Pure Love as described in 1 Corinthians 13:13.
Definitely an eye-opener to all those young adults who are confused about how to differentiate between love, lust and Youthful passions. As described by others it is clean romance. A book that is enlightening and a story that I will cherish for a lifetime.
It is also the first book I read on Amazon Kindle. Loved the experience. 😊

loved it! This series is best for teen issues & parents of teens & YA. Very inspirational & uplifting with a very clean romance with a love triangle Avery, Jake & Parker. Also, this is an Amazon Freebie right now!

"Lord, I know there will be times in her life when she feels lost and broken. I pray in her weakness that you become her strength..."

Wow, every chapter ends with a prayer of the subject of that chapter. Avery faces a disease called bulimia because she was always told to she was fat when she was younger or not pretty enough. She replaces food by running but when she hits rock bottom, she has the craving of eating and throwing it all up again.

"Numbness stretched over my shaking body, leaving me cold and empty. If only it would reach my mind, consumed still with my thoughts of him. Thoughts frozen in permanent rewind, reminding me over and over again of how much I had failed." ~ Avery

Avery is in college and moves in with her roommates which she will face challenges and temptations and choices to overcome more obstacles over the once she already faces each day.

Falling in love, heartbreak, depression, temptations

"You said you were flawed and damaged, but my love, we all are. The storms in your life don't make you less than perfect; they make you beautiful and full of character, with the ability to use all you've learned to impact the rest of the world." ~Parker

Avery has always had a choice, but will she see the truth that is in front of her or will her temptations lead her astray?

"You never lost me," he said sweetly as he wiped the tears from my face. "You just had to finally open your eyes before you could find me."

I fell in love with both Jake and Parker and even though both are in Avery's life, she needs to choose. First, she needs to accept someone else in her life and make a change before it is too late.
