Marked was definitely one of the more enjoyable adventures that I have read in a while. I bought it on a whim and soon after starting to read it realized that it would make me think deeply about things that I knew were possible but had denied existed. These things were actually hundreds of years of secret evil things that were being done by the people that we should trust most in our lives. The characters in the book were very believable and sympathetic. Yes, it has been said that some syntax, punctuation, and spelling sometimes went awry. But in any book or movie you must let your self believe or the tale does not become real for you. It's really about the story, right? Well, as this story went along I actually became a bit (low-level) depressed about what was happening. That is because there is a lot of truth to what the characters were living. This anxiety turned to excitement as the story built upon itself. I am actually very pleased that Marked II is now available. I read three to four books at any given time, different genres. I really look forward to the sequel and I guess it's really because I have grown to care about the characters (or is it that I care about all of us?) and their fates. There are many socio-political and moral issues to explore through Angela's writing and the story she tells. She will eventually be very well-known and followed for the concepts that she brings to light. Like I said, there are many things that are happening (or are they?) to all of us that we do not fully realize (or are we just afraid to recognize them?). Through the adventures in Marked we get a glimpse of some of them, learn about some historical truths, and maybe see what could happen to us and our society. All the while doing a little self-evaluation about how we are living our own lives. Bravo to Angela! I will read as many of her books as she can write.

I gave this four stars as this story kept me gripped and interested. In fact, I am now looking forward to reading the next one! It is a complete story in itself, but you feel that you must now read the second one to see "what happens next".
Would readily recommend this book.

Loved this storyline! I would have given it 5 stars if the editing were better. I got distracted in the very beginning with the constant change of tense and the spelling of one character's name two different ways. It seemed to get better later in the story...either that or the story got so good I no longer noticed! At any rate, I do plan to purchase the next book.

I loved this book. There are a few typos in punctuation, but not glaring ones. The plot sucked me in so that I didn't notice the minor imperfections. The story is very well written. I am not an expert in the Illuminati or Freemasons, but I found the information presented very intriguing. I realize this novel is a work of fiction and so I expect that some of the info may be presented for the sake of creating a great read. As a Christian I firmly believe that what the Bible says in Revelations is true, so I believe that the Anti-Christ will come and that there will be a mark of the beast. Regardless of what info is factual and what is fiction, the story is awesome. I read the whole book in a day. It had me thinking and anxiously waiting to see what would happen next. I love that the story is told from the side of good. I was disappointed to reach the end and cannot wait for the next book to come out.

Good, If You Can Overlook The Lack Of Editing!

I have just read this book for the second time. I haven't changed my mind that the plot is exceptional. But the second time around I read with a more critical eye, and noticed things that I overlooked the first time I read it. There are numerous grammatical errors-if this bothers you, be prepared. Sometimes it was as simple as the use of "they're" when "there" was the correct usage. Numerous commas were omitted, making sentences awkward and confusing. Sometimes entire words were omitted, requiring more study on the part of the reader to figure out the missing word and make sense of the sentence. These editorial glitches became more frequent as the story went on. At first I was able to skip over them, but found them irritating as I got further into the story.
Don't know if this book preceded "DiVinci Code" or vice versa, but plots were very similar. And I'll have to agree with other reviewers that toward the end, it got a little too preachy, at times sounding a bit like literature given to you by missionaries knocking at you door. Let me say I am a believing Christian, and enjoy an occasional spiritually oriented book, but it was out of place in this plot line, and I am surprised it survived the cutting room.
Let me repeat, in spite of everything, the story was engaging, and if these things don't bother you, you'll probably enjoy this book. A good editor could have fixed most of these problems.
I am a retired teacher, and require a grammatically correct narrative to truly enjoy a novel.
