This is a great book but a relatively new author. I highly recommend it and I can't wait for the next book to come out and see what happens to Tom, what sort of decisions he makes.
Angela

There are many reviews on the .com site, many 4 or 5 stars so maybe if you stick with it, it gets better.
Why did I get it? It was free and it sounded great - exactly the kind of thriller I like - and it had good reviews.
Why did I give up on it? Incredibly clunky/stilted dialogue - people just don't talk like that. It was reminiscent of a 10 year old's writing. It's apparent from the beginning, so if you download the sample and aren't put off by it, then you may well enjoy the book. I'm a fast reader, and clunky dialogue in particular throws me off my rhythm and slows me down.
I have since found out that English is not the author's first language, so maybe I'm being unfair. She would be better getting a good editor so the language doesn't get in the way of a good story.
To give some perspective, I'm not someone who's usually quick to give up on books, but nor am I one who sticks with it no matter what. Since becoming a kindle owner, I have read so many excellent freebies that I'm becoming less inclined to carry on with one that hasn't grabbed me. I download around 10 a week and read around 3 - so I have to be a bit more strict if I'm going to have time to discover the great ones!

Overall, I liked the the concept and even the characters. There are a lot of twists and turns. But I had difficulty reading this book because of the stilted language, grammar issues, and choppy scenes. Some of the formatting was off, but that's more of a Kindle issue than a book issue. This is another e-book that seems as if it had no editor. If there was an editor, they should be slapped for letting this book get through with that many errors. I read a lot of free e-books, and most of them are NOT self-published. I really wonder who is editing books these days.
Another reviewer wondered about the authenticity of many of the 5 star reviews. I have to agree with him. Many of the reviews are so laudatory and extremely well written. I would say they are much better written than the actual book itself.
