I really did like this one and I so enjoyed DI Simpkins character that I have already ordered the next three in the series and will for sure be getting the rest too.

A very good crime thriller with well-developed characters and an up-to-par plot/storyline.
The author kept my attention throughout the entire book and did not skimp on the details in regards to the typical British ambience and general social attitudes.
I personally recommend it for thriller readers.

so we follow Detective Inspector Lorne Simpkins and her partner, DS Pete Childs who are investigating a murder- the victim has no head but they are able to identify her via missing persons. They go and see her identical twin sister to brake the news and try to gather more info on her, turns out the wrong sister was murdered, so the murder sadly targets the twin, the murders has a long list to target.

Lorne starts to receive the missing body parts that belonged to her victims and phone calls of the victims who are held by J.S.

Lorne is having her own problem and trying heard not to let it affect her whilst trying to catch J.S. she forms a good relationship with the pathologist and he helps her through.

I found the characters well written I loved Lorne and Pete's relationship. I could not take to Tom and though he was selfish, and the new chief cant decide if I like him or not we will see how book 2 comes along.

Over all this was a well written story and would recommend this book to a friend! Roll on book 2!

Wow what a great book! I heard a lot of good things about it, and read it in one day. I seriously could not put it down!

Cruel Justice is the first book in the Justice series by M.A. Comely. The main character, DI Lorne Simpkins and her partner, DS Pete Childs are assigned to an extremely brutal murder. After 2 more murders are discovered, it is apparent that Simpkins and Childs have a serial killer on their hands. Not only that, but the murderer has become fixated with Simkins! Throw in the stresses of a marriage in difficulty, and having a new boss that she's had a past with.. and it makes for a great story!
After I read this book, I immediately bought book number 2... this is definitely a new favourite series for me!
