As parents, my wife and I believe in the importance of reading books to our children. Reading time has always been a special period for our little family to bond. As an author, my goal is to create books that allow other families to laugh and enjoy spending time together as well.

My first book was released in 2015 and as of 2022, I have published over 200 children’s books. My goal is to write over 500 books. I have no idea if I’ll ever reach that goal but it is something worth striving for as long as I continue to enjoy writing and illustrating.

My son loves this book. It talks about a Giant (Monster) who loved to eat only meatballs so he had the villagers make him meatballs, and he ate all of them, so the villagers have very little to eat and are hungry. Finally a little girl stands up for her village and asks him why he can't make his own food instead of making everyone else do it for him. She teaches him how to make meatballs and he loves cooking so much he opens up a popular shop in town selling the best meatballs in town. Great story teaching a great lesson about standing up for yourself and helping others.

This was a cute story especially for a free book. I downloaded it to read to my 6 year old. She liked the story and so did I. The story was cute and it incorporated the important age old lesson that if you teach someone to fish, you have fed them/they will eat for a lifetime, whereas if you simply give someone a fish, you have fed them/they will only eat for only one day.

While the story was cute and had a nice rhythm, I don't understand why the monster looks like a brown-skinned person missing several teeth and not more monster-like. His also being "schooled" but a little white girl did not sit well with me even though I am in favor of female empowerment even in its smallest forms. I probably would not have had a problem if his skin had been green or purple, to be honest.
I will not read this book to my daughter. I just don't want her to think that brown skinned people who are missing teeth are monsters. I want to believe it was unintentional but it still comes off as somewhat mean spirited and ignorant.
