While the characters and stories are fiction it is obvious that most if not all are stories that have been experienced as real life by someone, most more than once. The author makes it even harder to realize it is fiction with compelling and well written short stories that pull you in. Like most other reviews I had a hard time putting down the book, I had to at least finish the story I was on.
Some stories are harrowing, others are sad and tragic, and most will bring a smile to your face either because of goofy situations or because of the authors ability to elicit humor even in the most morbid times. While not all stories are "entertaining" as they sometimes contain very real, very sad and troubling situations you will still feel as you gained something valuable by reading them. And some simply are entertaining.
Resilience is exactly that, a testament to what the author's characters have as they go through various hard times and come out better people on the other end. There is a story for almost everyone and I highly recommend all give it a try, I doubt you will be disappointed.

Just finished the stories, and thinking about the girl in "Kitchen Table" I find myself angry. Angry that these incidents happen to children. Angry that the first experience with sex, which ideally should be an expression of physical love and caring, can be perverted into a fearful, threatening ordeal. My anger is soothed as I sympathize and laugh at Mrs. “Griswold” recounting an afternoon visit with her ex-co-workers. The author makes me feel as if I were sitting next to “what's her name.” listening to the latest of Griswold family misadventures, and then in turn gives me an inside glimpse of Mrs. Griswold's thought process when she discovers that her stories elicit more than simple interest and entertainment for her listeners. I laugh and lift my glass to “Corked,” my favorite of this selection.

This is Dianna Drown's third book and as with her first two is one you don't want to put down until you have read all of it. This book is 6 short stories. The main character of each story is a woman that has to deal with a life event. As you are reading, the author takes you on twists and turns so you don't know the outcome until at the end,
Very well written, easy reading and enjoyable to read.

This book is excellent. I especially liked. "Corked", had me laughing all the way through. A couple of the short stories were sad, but that is life. I will recommend this book to all my friends. I will definitely give this five stars.

This is the 3rd book I've read from this author Dianna Drone. Her latest book "Resilience" are short stories about women who find strength in difficult situations. Each story captured my attention immediately & held it to the end. A very good book to read!

I enjoyed this book a lot. Almost too crazy is life when things happen so good that some people take the time to write events down. We readers are grateful
