I downloaded a book about the wonderful uses of coconut oil and decided to try the coconut oil/coffee scrub. I followed the direction exactly as it said mixing 3 parts oil to 1 part coffee grounds, and put it in the freezer to harden. Last night I pulled the hard, strong coffee scented, brick out of the freezer and went to work scrubbing my legs. It is supposed to reduce the appearance of cellulite so I was determined to make this work. Unfortunately my first thought was, “This can’t be right” The brick was hard, cold, and VERY rough, but I muscled through it and scrubbed away. I’m pretty sure I took off too many layers of skin and the coffee was going to seep into my system and keep me up all night. Halfway through I was worried I had been tricked. The instructions say you will see results after several applications. Umkay..uh..ow. I guess I will do it again today then…ow.

At thirty-four, Catherine Hemmings has it all—a NYC walk-up that’s relatively free of crime and steps away from a great slice of pizza, credit card balances with the full closet and finance charges to match, still-happily-married parents with a screw loose, a younger brother with more years of marriage experience under his belt than she has continuous dating time, and friends hell-bent on setting her up with anyone but her type of guy… What more could a girl want?

The answer… a sundae.

Catherine’s parents are cleaning out her childhood home and moving to Wyoming on a lark. To make matters worse, many of the treasures she saved over the years are MIA. When she stumbles upon one of her favorite old toys, not in the attic where it’s supposed to be, but in an online auction, she declares all-out war—a bidding war—only to lose in the final seconds. But Cat isn’t ready to let go…

Her mission is simple: a well-planned, perfectly executed, two-day trip to reclaim her property from the winning bidder.

What could possibly go wrong?

Follow Catherine on a chick-lit style comic romp to the “wilds” of Minnesota, where she ends up tailing Joel “Fynn” Trager (a man she wants to kick, bite, and lick all at the same time). She resorts to lies, bribes, and criminal activity to get what she wants, only to find herself baring it all along the way—the good, the bad, and the truly ridiculous. Maybe her mother is right when she says, “Life is real, not ideal.” Her mother also says that one should always pack an extra change of clothes… perhaps she should have paid more attention when she was growing up.

Now, with the help of her friends and man’s best friend, Cat might get what she’s after, or she might just get more than she bargained for…

Can one be a Giant with no Dwarfs around?

A captivating tale for adults

The Giant and the Dwarf is a captivating tale for adults about the journey to, and the burden of, self-empowerment. The plot, moving, catching and heart gripping, shifts between reality and the fairy world, gaining insight from both.

The story and its direct and innocent style crosses the boundaries of personal inner space, allowing every reader to look at the Giant and Dwarf within them, along with their strengths and weaknesses, through the eyes of both a child and an adult alike.

The book ‘refuses’ to move in a set path of any one genre and walks a fine line between a sweet-fluffy children’s tale and a painfully biographical spiritual guide.

This fuzziness enables the reader to devote themselves unreservedly to the story with judgment of neither the story nor themselves, instead of experiencing the journey to the fullest.

The meaning of the relationship between Giant and Dwarf unfolds growth processes and expands awareness.

We are all part of this voyage to Self Growth, which demands a connection with pain and weakness, as well as with innocence and positive attitude.
